1 Corinthians 4:2 Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.
Fall is here, and with it comes one of my favorite holidays. Thanksgiving causes me to stop and consider all of Gods abundant blessings. God has entrusted me as a steward of those blessings whether it be finances, time, or giving of myself to others.
Be it in my home, workplace, Church, or simply in my neighborhood, there are windows of opportunity to prove our faithfulness in the area of stewardship.
We start out with the little things, wherever God places us, whatever he calls us to do, doing it with our whole heart, remembering to do it unto him. As we go about Gods business, he is expecting faithfulness, not perfection.
The results of our efforts may become disappointing to us, yet we cannot use this as an excuse to give up. I have heard the saying, When the going gets tough, the tough get going. I believe when the faith filled Christian trusts in the Lord, come what may, we will give Satan notice, We will not quit!
Yes, there have been times I have wanted to throw up my hands and quit, but I refuse to allow Satan to cast that snare and get caught up in it. It is not up to us to bring about the outcome of our stewardship. We are only accountable for our faithfulness.
As this season of celebration begins, let us renew our hearts to God, and as we count our many blessings, remember to be faithful in all things bringing glory to our Lord.
